It was a very cold day today on the frozen shore of Lake Erie. I miss the mild weather of the Northwest, but Ohio/Michigan has its merits and beauty, and I'll just have to endure the cold for a while on my journey.
This is
Detroit Edison power plant. Have no fear, this is not pollution that you see - just water vapor - reminding us all of their modern emissions control. I've sailed this lake for many years, and this power plant always served as a landmark and a beacon as you can see it from miles away!
I took this shot from a friend's house - a beautiful home right on the shore of Lake Erie in LaSalle, Michigan. Looking a bit north, the billowing vapor cloud is blowing east with the icy cold wind!
